Remove all traces of the Office installation by downloading the fixit from the following article:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501 saving it to your computer and then running it.

Then reinstall Office by logging into

www.office.com/myaccount with your registered email address and click Install Office.

Hi Doug, thanks for the reply.

I'm afraid I've already tried this and it just says "Troubleshooting couldn't identify the problem".

I've also rebooted, logged back in, re-downloaded the setup files for Excel 2013 Pro Plus Evaluation 64 bit and it still says "Setup cannot continue because a required file is either corrupted or not available. Run setup again from the original source disc or download location"

I tried the 32 bit and got the error:

"Setup can't find or validate an installation file"

Hi Badrul,

Let us manually remove 2013 from the computer and then try installing it and verify the results.

I'm afraid to say I tried going though the manual un-installation steps several times, and it still does not work.

I don't know what checks the setup file does but it seems to be impossible to get round it.

From where are you trying to download Excel 2013 Pro Plus Evaluation 64 bit?  It's Office that you should be trying to install.

You say that you are trying to re-install.  When did you originally install it?

Not that long ago - maybe 2 weeks ago now. I uninstalled it 2 days after installing it when Powerpivot wasn't working before I tried re-installing again straight away.

Had the exact same issue - I had to download the ISO again and that fixed the issue and allowed me to reinstall.
